Pole Level 1 Teacher Training

Join us for Pole + Dance’s Pole Level 1 Teacher Training! This two day training includes 14 hours of instruction over two days, from 10am-5pm each day.

Our Level 1 Teacher Training covers a detailed breakdown of our Pole Foundations curriculum including how to effectively teach climbing, inversion preparation, spins, body waves, pole sits, and floorwork. We’ll also go in depth on how to plan and lead an effective warm up, discover who you are as an instructor, best practices for teaching, how to build community, and what we expect of our Pole + Dance Studios instructors.

 Day 1.

  • 10am-10:30am: Introductions and Overview
  • 10:30am-11:30am: Pole Foundations Master Class
  • 11:30am-11:45am: Break
  • 11:45am-12:15pm: Who Are You as an Instructor?
  • 12:15pm-1pm: Teaching Best Practices
  • 1pm-1:45pm: Lunch
  • 1:45pm-3pm: P+D Introductions and Warm Up Breakdown
  • 3pm-4pm: Climbing and Inversions Preparation Breakdown
  • 4pm-5pm: Pole Foundations Movements Breakdown
  • 5pm-5:15pm.Closing and and Homework

 

Day 2.

  • 10am-10:30am: Check in and Q+A
  • 10:30am-11:45am Student Led Warmups in Small Groups
  • 11:45am-1pm: Student Led Foundations Movements Instruction
  • 1pm-1:45pm: Lunch
  • 1:45pm-3:15pm: Student Led Foundations Movement Instruction
  • 3:15pm-3:30pm: Break
  • 3:30pm-4:30pm: Difficult Situations and Case Studies
  • 4:30pm-5pm: Certificates and Feedback Forms and Next steps

 

Please note that participation in the training does not guarantee employment at a Pole + Dance Studio. This training is the starting point for brand new instructors and is required to begin our shadowing and evaluation process for those who are new to teaching pole.

Participants should be confident climbing to the top of the pole, performing a pole sit, and be familiar with basic pole spins and movements.
