Upcoming Intensives:
Looking to finally understand how flexibility actually works in your body—not just copy stretches from the internet?
Spend a full 3-day weekend training with Micah Walters, a movement coach with 20+ years of experience in gymnastics, dance, yoga, and fitness. You’ll get a powerful mix of drills, technique, and nerdy-but-accessible theory so you know why each exercise works.
This three-day intensive runs from 2-5pm each day and covers full-body flexibility, backbends, and hip mobility. You won’t just be stretching all day, every day, either! Designed to appeal to everyone from beginning benders to contortion-level flexibility addicts, this intensive includes deep discussion of how your tissues respond to stretching. You’ll discuss fascia, the nervous system, active flexibility vs. passive flexibility, and how to structure your warmup for the best bending. Micah will explain how to understand the limits you feel when you stretch and how to work with those limits, and how to create a short, highly effective stretching practice that you can stick with.
Come be a tourist in your own city! After dancing our butts off, we’ll head out together to find hidden delights, classic must-see spots, and urban adventures.

It depends on the retreat! Please be sure to read the prerequisites prior to booking. That said, exact workshop curriculum will be customized to the level of the individual retreat attendees.
Instructors at all our studios are trained to teach in a progressive nature, starting with the foundational aspect of the movement pattern and building levels of difficulty on top of that. We like to think of the progressions as bus stops; you can get off on the one that challenges you! -
There are many nice hotels in downtown Portland. Amy’s preference is The Nines though she prefers Airbnbs to PDX hotels. The retreat is in NW Portland so we recommend staying in either the Pearl District or NW/SW Portland generally.
-
If you want to stay in a hotel by yourself, we recommend staying at either at Found Hotel Carlton in Nob Hill (for budget accommodations) or at the W hotel, close to Embarcadero BART station (for luxury accommodation).
If you would prefer to rent an Airbnb with other people, we will pair you up with other pole camp attendees within one month of booking - just let us know! Whether you book a Airbnb with other people or alone, we recommend booking Airbnbs in the mission District, Hayes Valley, And Noe Valley neighborhoods to stay in safe, fun, vibrant neighborhoods that are close to the studio in Soma district.
-
Due to the limited nature of the slots available for booking, we do not offer refunds for purchased retreat slots.
If you need to cancel your booking more than 90 days before the retreat, we can offer you a credit toward a future retreat, less a $200 cancellation fee.
If you need to cancel your booking within 90 days of the retreat, we can apply a 50% credit toward a future P+D retreat.
